We also ended up changing our shooting location to one of the other locations we scouted, hoping for a larger crowd. This location worked out in the end, although I feel that the lighting was harmed by the storefronts along this location combined with the late shooting time making for a dark background.
Our biggest struggle ended up being that an initial shot location would no longer allow us to shoot there. We wanted to shoot a high-angle shot from the second floor of a restaurant, which we had previously gotten permission to do. Once we got the the location to film, however, we were told the restaurant was too crowded for us to use for filming. We had to make do with having one of out actors hold the camera as high as he could from on top of a bench. Although these circumstances were an unforeseen setback, the shot turned out fine.
