The early digital release of this film caters to the films audience of teens and young adults who are guaranteed to have some mobile device that can stream video on them at almost all times. This audience will be more likely to be willing to pay the lower price of a digital release of a film for a device they have with them more frequently than they are willing to pay the higher price or give time to go to the theater or purchase a physical copy of the film. The company still gets more money from purchasing the more expensive physical copies, however, so the physical release includes features that the digital doesn't to entice fans to still purchase a physical copy.

This picture shows the special edition of "Justice League" that is to be released only in Walmart. This special edition includes a Bluray copy of the film, a set of pins that each represent the films cast, and various bonus content such as scene studies and bonus scenes. All of this material attracts fans to still buy a physical copy of the film even though it's more expensive and less accessable since it provides content that can only be attained in this package. The deal of being sold exclusively at Walmart is an extra deal that further limits the sales of this product while also promoting the partner company.
